Tourism Season has officially started

Corfu's effort to extend its tourism period have paid off when looking at the recent data of airport flights and cruise ship arrivals. Its no surprise given that Corfu managed to secure "Home Port" status for Corfu Port as twice a week its port is the main departure and arrival point of two major travel companies, Tui Cruises and AIDA Cruises.
February 2nd was the first commercial cruise ship for the port which marked this date as beginning of tourism season for Corfu. The island's airport is not far behind with its first tourist flight scheduled for arrival on the 9th of March 2024, just two weeks from today.
Corfu's airport might experience its busiest season yet with new routes and destinations that were added this year. JET2 has it's first flight arriving on March 29th while British Airways has it's first flight scheduled for arrival on March 31st. EasyJet is also scheduled for late March while Edelweiss (Swiss Holiday Airline) and Volotea (Spanish Low Cost Airline) are scheduled from April and onwards.
Tui, a giant in tourism and travel have their first flight arriving on the 10th of May and for their first time, Sky Alps, an Italian Airline will have one weekly flight arriving in Corfu from June 7th 2024.
